I am a new member here, so be patient until I figure out how things work. I am a mother of a soon to be 22 year old son with Aspergers and OCD. Even though he is exceptionally bright, he has struggled his whole life to be accepted. Right now he struggles more with the OCD. After leaving HS, he did not do anything. Then last year he decided to try his hand at college. He was going part-time and he got very good grades and I was so proud of the way he worked with his professors about his OCD. Then something happened and he decided to quit. Now he's not doing anything. He wants to get a job, but does not want to do the usual things you do when starting out. He basically wants to be on his own. He is a fantastic writer and is very knowledgeable about just about everything! He is passionate about many things, but does not like to talk about some things. It's sad to see him wasting away. He sees a therapist, but as soon as she touches on a subject he does not want to discuss, he leaves. Where can someone like him go to find a job that suits his personality and skills?

Writing bills-of-material, owners' and instructional manuals, travel guides and stuff like that ... and he might look for leads in some recreational or travel magazines. I once almost got into that kind of work for a manufacturer of recreational vehicles, but someone else got there just ahead of me ...

... and welcome to WP!
