Hi folks!

I am here looking for help wrt to my son who has been diagnosed with AS since the age of 5. He's 13 now, and we're plodding along, but new challenges come along all the time and sometimes I find it very hard to cope.

I also sometimes wonder if I couldn't have AS too - I seem to tick quite a few boxes, although I think I've developed enough coping mechanisms over the years to "fool" most people into thinking I'm relatively normal. Or maybe I'm deluded and they all think I'm as offbeat as my boy - who knows!

I'm with you, new to WP and my son is also 13 with AS. Yes, it is very difficult at times, sometimes I think we are going along okay and dealing with issues and other times I think I am not going to make it through. I only recently have realized after looking back over my life (and I have spent sometime doing this) that I clearly have Aspergers. I wasn't sure about being on the wrong planet but for sure thought everyone was talking in another language especially when I was in school! Anyhow I feel at home here. It explains why I didn't fit in or could be understood by anyone earlier in my life and yes I have adapted a great deal, but still remain isolated to a large extend.

We had a very rough summer due to some interactions with an old school friend of my sons, he has been home schooled for the last 3 years and has no desire to go back to school, but it was a very bumpy ride which has now settled again.
