Hi, I've been here for a month or so, but I figured I would officially introduce myself now.
I'm an engineering student. I really like philosophy and free software, and I'm trying to use both to come to some conclusions about how best to improve society. http://themeatyard.blogspot.com/2009/08 ... -idea.html (for philosophy see the long version) I haven't had time to do much on that project, hopefully I will be able to get somewhere on it after I graduate.

I started out in college doing ok, but after a few semesters, because of my insecurities I felt like I needed to try and take as many classes as the smart engineering people did each semester, and because of my poor organizational skills I kind of screwed up my GPA. (my mild depression for a few semesters didn't help either)

I learned that I had asperger's just a few months ago and this has been a been both a relief and a sadness (mostly a relief though). I pretty much loose all the friends I make after about a year because of my problems with socialization and other psychological problems I have developed from living on the wrong planet. However, I think this may change since I am learning to cope better with things now that I know I have AS.

I'm working part time as an interning software engineer while I finish school. I was lucky to get a job with my GPA, and although I am really struggling to live on my own... work part time... AND go to school! I am relatively optimistic about the future and think that if I get through this I will get through anything.

Hope this wasn't too long. Thanks for reading if you got here. I'm very happy to be at wrongplanet.net which is like a portal to the right planet for me; there are some great people here.
