Hi. I'm new. I love it that I put in the username AbsentMindedProf and it was already taken! This could be somewhere I could feel at home...

"Absent-minded Professor" was a label put on me (in a nice way, and quite deservedly) by a class teacher I had when I was 7. I hadn't given a great deal of thought since, but having been piecing a few things together over the last 5-6 years I've come to realise that I'm at least close to having Aspergers Syndrome. And the title absent-minded professor still seems to fit somewhat. Today I've noticed there's even a forum thread about absent-minded professors on WP - it seems quite a few aspies have been labelled this.

I'm not a professor. But I do teach one module for the undergraduates at a local university, so I guess that means I'm close.

I seem to be feeling the effects of the Aspergers - if that's what it is - more strongly than usual at the moment, which is one reason for signing up.

I'm not sure quite how to interpret my Aspie Quiz results. Any thoughts on that? The results were 114 Aspie/96 NT. "Both Aspie and NT traits" they said. I took one of the other tests a while back and that came out with me somewhere right on the borderline. Where does this put me, roughly speaking, in the WP community? (I realise it's not a competition).
