Hey,

Not really sure what to write here so i'll just tell you a bit about myself as an introduction. My name is Troy, I'm originally from Wisconsin but moved down to Nevada because my mom and step dad where and still are addicted to gambling -.-. My hobbies are studying martial arts, hiking, and anything to do with technology but i'm most passionate about computer programming. So far I taught myself to program in Visual Basic 6.0-2010 and C# 2010.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was 19 which I denied for the longest time saying "It's my personality! There is nothing wrong with me!" Then I learned that some very important people (ex:Albert Einstein) had what I have and it made me feel better. Now i've been trying to accept it and find out all the information I can about it and what i've learned so far just dosent seem good enough for me. I don't seek a cure or anything i've come to terms with what I am and that does not bother me. But i'd just like to learn a little bit more about what doctors see when they look at me.

I am 21 years old now and have been struggling with important aspects of my life and trying to find alternatives. It's very hard for me because I have this unexplained problem with manipulating numbers in my head (Mental Math). I can do them perfectly fine on paper or a calculator etc, I even like to make up percentages sometimes for statistical things. But if you ask me to deduct 17.53 from 30 dollars and how much I give them back and ask me to do it all in my head. I would either take a long time to do it, Or I would give up and leave the interview.

I don't think i'm unintelligent, I can program some fairly advanced things and people have told me you need to be pretty good at math to program, I do just fine. I didn't graduate highschool because all the people in the school made me so anxious I dreaded going everyday and my mom thought I would get picked on and beat up because i'm "different". I did however get my G.E.D. without studying the first time I attempted it and have several computer certifications. I came across this website looking at the Wikipedia page for Asperger's Syndrome and noticed that there was a website dedicated to people in the Autistic Spectrum like me and I was curious because i've never met another Aspie or anyone I can relate to in the slightest so I thought it would be interesting to check out.

I am actually very math adept as well even though I pretty much sucked at most non math science things at school.

Math is actually my worst subject, on my GED I got 100% of the reading/writing comprehension answers correct, everything else was good, but math was a tiny bit under passing score.

I have dislexia so reading and writing are not my strong suits. My reading comprehension is horrible as well.

I took one computer programming course in high school--the program being taught was Pascal (I guess I just dated myself with that one). I wanted to learn more but nothing else was offered. Truthfully, I wasn't very good at it, but somehow got an A anyway.

I need to work math out on paper or with a calculator too. When I try to do it in my head it is PAINFULLY slow, and I always think I've made a mistake somehow.
