The speech given in the posted video pretty much describes my youth in a nutshell.

Three facts that weren't mentioned in the speech given in the video:
1. My exact diagnosis is PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified). This diagnosis was made when I was only 3 years old.
2. Like any other kid growing up, I played sports, including basketball, baseball, and soccer. However, this fact doesn't contribute to the theme of the speech made in the video.
3. When I was 17, my mom stole half of my chess winnings from a tourney in D.C. (Total winnings = $1400). When police questioned her about it, she denied doing it; so they couldn't prosecute her. Basically, my mom got away with stealing $700 of her child's chess winnings
. As you can probably see, I didn't exactly have the best mom while I was growing up.
Fast-forward to today:
I am now a senior in college who has recently been accepted into grad school for the PhD program in Biostatistics.
I have been in a fraternity since the spring 2008 semester.
