Hello everyone, my name's Helen and my son is another newbie, cybersam! :D .

I haven't been diagnosed with anything but I have definite traits - possibly Aspergers, definitely OCD!! ! . I relate well to my son anyway!.

My name is 'Tubby Chef' because that is what my son calls me sometimes - I'm a bit chubby because I'm always messing about in the kitchen dreaming up new and, erm, interesting, Vegan 'treats' (sometimes they are treats, sometimes not! ).

So, we have added to your already large community, nice to be here! (*waves!*).

Hi everyone, nice to feel welcome! :D .

I feel as though I have been on the wrong planet for many years! .

Scotland is great, thanks, though a bit cold and windy today. 'Fraid I'm not a real Celt (though I do have some Irish blood! ). I was born in the South-West of England, lived in North Wales for a long time, and now up in the North-East of Scotland. It's lovely here, pretty wild - and pretty snowy at times :D .

Where in the South West? We grew up in Brixham. I always fancied Wales or Scotland, the wilder the better!

I like your avatar, Amelia! :D .

I was born in Wiltshire, moved to Hayle in Cornwall when I was two weeks old, then Kent for a year when I was 7, then Sussex, then Liverpool, onto Wales...........now Scotland!! .

I think, being raised in the South-West we crave space and wild countryside, don't you? :D .

Yes definitely... we live in Kent now but it's sort of by accident (long story!). I lived in Vancouver for 3 years before that-best of both worlds. I could see the city through my front window and the mountains out the back.

Our ambition is a small cottage in the middle of nowhere with hiking trails for me and paragliding hills for him. A vegetable garden and some chickens. One day......!

^ Yeah, me and my son are a little bit too much alike!! .

At school I never quite fitted in anywhere - I was partly one of the Naughty Kids, partly a Geek, and then I was quite cool, too, especially when I got older and started smoking and drinking (in an effort to forget who I was inside!! :? ). I knew I was always a great disappointment to my mother, and I always much preferred animals to humans. I've always had my 'obsessions', too. Apparently I used to line up my books at home in my room, and label the shelves into sections, library-style! . I'm pretty sure I'd have been diagnosed if there were such a thing in those days!! . Never mind, we survived, and at least we can help our little ones now :D .
