Hi! Little nervous ha. I'm a nearly 20-year-old girl in SE England; I knew I had some minor autistic traits (in the way that most people have minor traits of a lot of things, but not enough to warrant a diagnosis) but recently I've been reading about Asperger's in books and online and taking some little tests etc and it looks like I probably have it - it describes me more effectively than I thought it would. So as of yet I'm undiagnosed but I'm going to be asking my doctor soon. Either way, I definitely share a lot of the traits and experiences I expect you all have... so I thought I'd come here and look around =]

From what I gather, he's a huge fan of The Kinks. And rightly so. They're epic.

Ahhh, right! And I'm guessing they're a band? Haha sorry I think this is my personal variation of not understanding idioms and sayings - i tend to be fine with most sayings, but I get stuck on little things like this

Yes. From the 60's (and maybe 70's.) If you heard some of their hits you'd recognise the music. It's good stuff.

I'm not sure. I think he just puts things like that at the end of each post. I wouldn't get too confused by it. :D

- The fifth Beatle.

:P Sorry.

Welcome! :D Good luck with the diagnosis, it depends where you are as to whether it'd be covered on the NHS, here in Greater Manchester it's not for adults, as I've recently found.

By the way, CockneyRebel's not a guy.

Gosh, had a bit of a heart attack for a moment there - my boyfriend is called Mark and was born in 1984 on the 23rd of the month. Thought I was being followed!!

So that's why it seems to be more acceptable to call yourself an undiagnosed Aspie than an undiagnosed anything else... people are always again self-diagnosis. Hmm. I know there are some private doctors who'll diagnose adults but yeah, I was sort of trying to avoid going to my GP about it - she's really nice and is definitely the only doctor I've found who actually listens to what I have to say and will send me to see specialists if she doesn't know enough about what I'm asking about, but I worry about the specialists I'd get sent to :( also waiting lists... I'm pretty impatient at times haha, I really want a diagnosis now if I'm going to get one. Though there are practical reasons too; I'm sure I don't need to list all the reasons for wanting a diagnosis.

Big hello to all the other UK Aspies! *waves*
