Up until recently I have been dealing with AS unknowingly. About a year ago I made a friend who works closely with people with autism and he immediately saw through my charade (which is quite honed when I'm focusing) and recognized the behavior. At first I wasn't sure I believed him, I don't think I wanted to. To do so would be validating all the feelings I had been having about being different and only acting normal when all I wanted was to fit in and be the same as everyone else. After this bit of info was dropped into my life, by chance, I met a few people and forged a very strong bond with them on the spot. I came to find out they have all been diagnosed with AS. The phrase birds of a feather comes to mind...
Well, this prompted me to act. I did some research and a whole lot of thinking. The more I learned, the more every experience in my life started to make sense. I began to find a curious sense of comfort in the idea that I have this condition and was simply never diagnosed because of my family's ignorance of developmental disorders. Finally, a name to give the demons that had been terrorizing me all my life.
So here I am. 
My name is Adam. I'm 22 years old, and it brings me great solace to finally say, I have Aspergers.
God that feels good...

(Though I think NAO sounds like 'nay-o' rather than now. 'Now' spelt how it sounds would be, well . . . 'now').
NAO derives from LOLspeak, and can not be spelled as it sounds, broken grammar is necessary.
