Hello! I'm the 23 year old Bipolar wife of a 22 year old man with Asperger's, diagnosed when he was 12. He told me before we even started dating, and we've been together 7 years, married 3 years as of this August.

Recently my husband has become less in control of his anxiety and anger. We believe he has developed a tolerance to his medication, and so he is beginning to take new medications on top of his old, as prescribed by our psychiatrist. He seems to be becoming agoraphobic, and I'm worried that I am enabling him.

I'm here to learn about how I can be more understanding and helpful, without enabling him and making things worse in the long run. I'm hoping also that he'll return to this forum (he used to frequent the site a lot several years ago) and be able to relate to others, hopefully helping him to feel less hopeless. :?

I have anxiety and anger issues but I've never been bad enough to medicate. I do sometimes get in a place where I just want to be left alone and when people try to pull me out of there they are just making it worse making me want to stay there longer. I still function, I do my job and take care of myself, but people who've known me for a while know enough to steer clear of me when I'm like that. These moods can last weeks but usually only last days, I think I get them 2 to 3 times a year.
