I am new to the forums and to aspergers, though I have lived and suffered with it all my life. I thought I was just off, and had such a rough child hood with an abusive antisocial father who I suspect is an aspie himself, that I pinned all my "off-ness" on my up-bringing.

In my own sort of, "road to damascus" I discovered that I was an aspie just this week while on Netflix watching the wartime-romance movie "Dear John". the main character's father was a carbon copy of my own real-life uncle, who also happens to be named John, and also an aspie. I have had (and continue to have) a rough life with this disability and I feel proud of what I have been able to survive and accomplish in light of it. I hope to maybe meet a friend or two who I can relate to and find out more ways I can survive this world with this condition. I will reveal more about myself in time but in the mean time, thank you for creating this site.
