My name is Alex. How are you? Does anyone else have trouble not using formal language when they're trying to communicate on a keyboard?

I've been quiet, during the last decade- and I'm not sure if I've posted to WrongPlanet before, but if you think you might know me from another Austism or Asperger's forum, please write me up to say 'Hi.' I don't likely imagine that anyone would remember me.

How is everyone? I like computers, cats, and coffee. I don't own a car because walking to work is too much fun. I like to read for entertainment, but my friends are constantly showing me movies and TV shows. My friends are pretty awesome that way. My favorite toy is a console and I like my coffee black and bitter.

I don't know you, but hello and welcome anyway. I just clicked on this post because it reminded me of all the computer programming books that teach one how to program and I was curious; the first program that one writes is something that prints "Hello World" to screen.

I understand about using formal language with communicating on the computer. I had someone complain that I text them paragraphs with complete sentences instead of using text-speak.

I like computers, cats, and coffee, too. Although, I like cafe latte (not the crummy starbucks version), not black. I also like earthquakes and volcanoes.

Welcome along. How am I? I am fine, how are you? I am much more formal on here than I am talking to people one to one - but that must be the case with many.

I don't have trouble with being informal on the internet, but I do have a lot of trouble changing my level of formality in between situations, so I tend to keep my voice the same wherever I am and let my diction adjust to the level of the conversation for me.
