speak on the phone with me?

preferably someone experienced in dealing with people who have autism/AS

i know its kind of random, but i just want to see if you think i might have either of those conditions...

i know its not an accurate way to get a diagnosis.. im gonna see a psychologist in a few weeks, but i really cant wait and its really bugging me..

i just want someone's experienced opinion...

i honestly think i have AS.. ive always felt like a misfit and i scored pretty high on those tests online... and ive done SO much research on AS, im convinced i have it..

i feel like i haveto 'act' according to past experiences in social situations... this is the behavior many other aspies describe.. right?

i just feel so desperate.. i want someone's opinion other than mine/my family/so called friends.

because my family says they dont think i have it, they just think im smart... and my friends hardly know what it is, and when they read about it online they say that it doesnt sound like me at all..

but i cant trust any of these people... i want one of your guys' opinion...

so PLEASE, if theres anyone out there willing to speak to me on the phone i would love it.

im not a creeper or anything im a 20 year old male in LA.

I posted this already, but I'll repost it again

http://aspdx.org/doc/RivtoAdultASDTest[1].pdf

print it out if you can, and go to the ninth page I believe, and begin answering those questions. It takes a very long time to answer, but I believe if you have 60+ agreeable answers, you have AS. It is also a new study that came out a short while ago, and is being tested in the US as well as in Europe. Surprisingly... it picks up AS in more girls then any test administered before, so I don't know what that says... Good luck.

Don't go to the psychiatrist.

Get in contact with your local Aspie network in your area (you can do so by googling your city, LA and Aspergers. Hook up with those people, meet as many as you can, and get a recommendation on psychiatrists or doctors who have experience dealing with aspies in the past and ones that are qualified to diagnose you. Good luck man.

Go to the psychiatrist, do not take the test.

Just because you may believe that you have Asperger's Syndrome - especially after self-administering an on-line test - it does not mean that you actually have it. Only a professional can make that determination.

More lives have been ruined by false belief than by any medical diagnosis.

Can't he do that by visiting doctors and/or psychiatrists who have experience with people who have aspergers? That's the point of visiting his LA aspie network. He can meet up with others and hear their experience.

It took me 5 years to get somewhere with my IBS diagnosis. It really ate at my self-esteem from high school through my first few years in college. Sometimes, you are your best doctor.
