I am a 40 yr old female adult who had been diagnosed with minor Asperger's Syndrome a few years ago. It wasn't until recently that I felt like AS has really hindered my life. I always seem to meet people and get along very well until a situation occurs where I feel I need to step in and help and then it turns out to be the wrong thing to do and I get put on the spot for doing that and I end up apologizing. This type of situation has led to these people either distrusting me or telling me to not talk to them ever again. The recent situation led to them telling me to not talk to them again, which means any possible friendship is over. They were and still would have been a great help to me for business reasons too. Now I've lost this too. I knew them for 4 months. I will explain more about this situation in the Social Skills and Making Friends section. This situation has really stressed me out which is why I felt I had join a group of people who either have AS or know a great deal about. I will probably also join an AS group locally to talk face to face with people. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
