Heya, I only found this place today, so here I am. Hoping to have a laugh and whatnot.

I'm 21, living in Cornwall (UK), and volunteering at a local aspergers youth group (since I seem to get sacked from every other job after a month :P). I was diagnosed late when I was 14, after having been put in all manner of institutions and all the joy that brings. Anyways I made it through without too much psychological damage *twitch* and now aim to get on with life as best I can. I'm also gay, which adds an extra challenge to things. I enjoy reading (non-fiction and odd bits of sci-fi), art (fantasy/sci-fi again) films and tv (sci-fi... comedy, cartoons, quiz shows) playing video games (shooters mostly) off-road motorbiking and listening to an ecclectic mix of heavy metal, folk and synthy stuff.

I hope to meet some interesting people. Thank you for reading.

I posted here about the avatar. :) She's a French comedian I saw on Eurotrash years back. Likes to dress as assorted animals and do... things.

Well, you get bonus points for that, anyway.

I'm coming down to visit there next month. I have a vague plan of moving down that way,
(Bodmin, Launceton?) but need to better scout out the work and housing situation. One does hear horror stories, and I'm not one of these multiple-home yuppies.

Yeah... We tend to burn them in giant wicker men every solstice. :P

Work ain't up to much unless you wanna get really intimate with old people or spend every night cleaning sick up off a Newquay bar floor. But then maybe that's just my experience with the Cornish job market... And house prices are insane. I know people in their 50s still living with parents cos they can't afford to move out of the family home...

Yeah, but do I get to obsess over a gyrating nude Britt Ekland look-alike? Almost worth it!

I might be able to do a little better than that for work, but being 50 and having lived in my own house for 20 years, I could just about afford something small as long as it wasn't cute, historic, with a view of the harbour. (The traditional fantasy, and I admit perhaps mine if the lottery win comes through)

Being AS, I don't have to cater for a large family.
It's just for me, and somewhere to put a model railway in the garden.

I suppose, if farming, mining and tourism are all in trouble, we'll just have to go back to more traditional industries, like wrecking.
