Okay, I'm new here and I don't post in forums a whole lot, so I really hope I'm doing this right. 
My name is Dessie, I'm 18, and I think I have Aspergers Syndrome. I found this website online earlier while I was doing some research, and I decided to join.
I actually first heard about Aspergers a few months ago when I had to do research on Autism for a psychology class I was taking. The more I read and learned the more it just seemed to fit. I've always had so much difficulty making and keeping friends, and even just having a "normal" conversation with another person...I always figured that there had to be a reason, I just wasn't sure what it was. And now I think I know.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with what I know now. I'm trying to figure out how to talk to my parents about this (if only I knew how to do that). I really worry that they'll think I'm overreacting. But I don't know.
So here I am, and I'm hoping to get to know everyone here soon!
