Hi I'm new and Lost

Hi All,

I'm a mother of a 9yr old boy who has just been diagnosed with Aspergers & ADHD. I'm lost because the Psych that gave me the diagnosis didn't give me any advise or info except to get in contact with the Autism Society. My son is a very tempramental child who is very hard to get along with, he gets violent most of the time expecially towards his older sister. He has big problems at school, I often wonder why I even send him there. I have no idea where to start looking for info or advise on what to do next. If anyone can help please do.

Do read Tony Attwood's Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrom and check this link for more:

Try to find an expert near you by google search or others; Autism Society will probably be able to help there.
Be aware, that Asperger's is still new and even experts may not meet your expectations. Do not give up. Look for help until you find the help you require.

At least your local support organisation is a place to find people who're wrestling with similarly intractable problems, and to get an idea of what can be done to help and how to make it happen.
