It is :D I'm not obsessed, but it has been an natural interest all my life. And since users of this forum seem to be from all over the world, it thought it would be nice to survey them with this light-hearted question!

During my school years, I took several different courses in language and did poorly in almost all of them. These included French, Spanish, Russian. But then I traveled to Poland and even though I could not speak the language and they could not speak English, I found that communications was not much of a problem. I found that people when they wanted to communicate could do it naturally mixing many different languages together and even developing their own.

Very interesting! Did you notice people using a lot of gestures? I feel like it would help me a lot if I had trouble communicating.
