This is the first time I have done this type of group. I am the mother of a 12 year old daughter who has many diagnoses. I am trying to determine which ones are correct. She has been diagnosed with OD, PDD, Bipolar, Sensory integration disorder, depression, ADHD, mood disorder and AS. She has brain cells that did not migrate to their proper place when she was in her mother's uterus. She is beautiful, but her perceptions of life are very different. She has a strong will and is determined to act in ways that make her stand out from others in a negative way. She doe not wear matching things. She makes a mess when she eats and she does not realize that others consider her odd, yet she is crushed when she can't make friends. She is very verbal and expressive about everything but her feelings. She knows she is suicidal but she is not able to explain why,
She is totally unaware of the need to use the restroom until it is almost too late. She completed kindergarten and first grade in one school year, had an advanced vocabulary and could read anything she desired with little effort. She had a seizure and lost all language ability- reading, finding a page, writing and vocabulary. I am a teacher and after 1 and a half years she began to read again. She knows it used to be easy and no it is hard. Life is very hard for her.
I found this site when searching for information on suicide in 12 year old girls. She has made several attempts on her life and 6 months ago she took an overdose and was on a respirator for several days.
I hope I dis this correctly. I am looking forward to being a member.
Welcome to Wrongplanet. I am really sorry to hear about your daughter and her suicide attempts.

There is the Haven section and a members only section on here to talk about stuff that you're going through. I really hope that you will get the help that you need here. I have Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, depression and OCD and others. Take Care.
