My life and my personal history make so much more sense now! Decided to tell my Dad first n he responded well I think-supportive, trying to understand what it's like inside my head instead of the other way around, and I was never very good at that. Still nervous about telling my sobs though, I worry that they'll think I'm just making it up to excuse odd behavior, or things about me they don't like. Anyone who has experience with this I'd like to hear your strategy for introducing the diagnosis to the family. My two friends-there might be only two of them but they're awesome-just laughed and said they know I'm odd but that's just me and they like me the way I am. I really hope my family is as understanding because there's a lot longer history of misunderstanding n arguments n they remember me in my more extreme days as a child n teen, when I had not yet learned many of the social graces that are so important. Other people this super nervous about who to tell and how to tell them?

Hello Aspiegirl. I wish you the best in spilling the beans to your family, if you haven't done so by now. Mine kinda introduced it to me first..well, they suspected it, and was advised I seek a possible diagnosis from a professional. Viola, it's official.

Welcome to WP!

Hello and welcome.
I just said straight out to my family. They don't appear to judge me either way.
