Met a friend, who had a friens who knew somethin about Aspergers. After listenin to my story she mentioned I check it out. I've read a little and my life story seems to finally make the sense I've gave up looking for a long time ago. So, I'm here and learning more.

Thanks

Yeah, I'm feeling like that too! :D

It's a really good site and a lot of things are now making more sense.

Don't get too lost in the forums, though - I've been exploring all weekend and will probably get in trouble as a result!

Hi

I'm Ian,age 47 from Johnstone,Scotland
I recently saw an article on Aspergers and realised I had all the symptoms - they couldn't all be a coincidence ! I was aware of being
a bit of a loner but I think I deluded myself into thinking that was all
that was different about me. I now feel relieved and happy to know there's a reason for it and there are others in the same position.
I chose the nickname 'Pluto' because it used to think it was a planet
the same as the rest of the Solar System but has just been re-classified as being a different kind of planet.
I've a wide range of interests - books,music (Eagles,Fleetwood Mac,Corrs),films,tv,football(soccer),history.
I look forward to being part of this community and learning more to
help me adjust to what seems like a new world out there.

regards
:D

wow, what a response! It's great to know I'm not as alone as I thought. Question for me is this, is it necessary to integrate with others if I am content with life as I have arranged it so far. Sometimes I feel pressure to do "something" but in my heart do not feel that it is necessary...

A tangential question this -

Sunn, is your I.D. in any way related to Sunn Amplifiers?

I know there's an Earth album called "Sunn Amps and Smashed Guitars" 8) :D

Oh, and in answer to your question, don't fix it if it isn't broken. If you're happy as you are I wouldn't worry about trying to change too much, particularly if that's going to be difficult for you. The strongest people of all are those who know their weaknesses and work with 'em.

No I have never heard of Sunn Amplifiers. It is a name that came to me for an ID. And thanks for the wisdom on working the weaknesses. Where did you come up with that?

Welcome. BTW, Sunn amps (Logo looks something like " Sunn 0)) " were used by The Kingsmen ,(Louie, Louie) Jimi Hendrix when he played in Band of Gypsies. Alex Lifeson of Rush, as well as Pete Townsend of The Who used their Model T briefly in the late 70's. Now they are primarily used by really loud and heavy Stoner Rock bands, including the band who took their name from their favorite amplifiers.

Got it, thanks. Hendrix...not bad but if Neil Young isn't using them can't be too hot! :D
