Son 17 just diagnosed with Asperger's

Hi, well as you can tell from the subject I am new to all of this. My son had been tested for so many different things since the age of 3, never a concrete outcome, until yesterday. I feel horrible for never having the right doctor, tho I have lost count to the number we have seen for various issues. As a parent we never want to know that there is something wrong with our child, but it had gotten to the point where I was desperate for an answer, knowing that there was always something a little different about my son. I look forward to see him thrive and become more comfortable in his daily day to day life.

My mum is having troubles coming to terms with my dx. I'm in my 30s!

Can I just say something that many parents of spectrums kids disagree with me on, there is nothing WRONG with him, he is just very different to you and other non-spectrum people. I constantly chastise my mother for saying "i didn't realise something was wrong" and it bugs me as it means not right.

Thank you for you comment, I appreciate all the help I can get when discussing or referring to the Aspergers
