I was getting a psych evaluation for bariatric surgery yesterday, when I first heard that I might have :oops: Asperger's. I had heard of Autism, but always thought of autistic people as sitting in a corner focused on something i couldn't see who couldn't communicate. Boy, it seems I was wrong about a lot of things, and I apologize to those Autistics I just dissed.

It seems I have some of the indicators for Aspergers, verbosity (as you can already tell), don't seek out social contact often, a bit uncoordinated, some OCD-like behaviors, and a few I'm not sure of.

This is my first delving into research on this subject. I have 2 children & a grandchild who may also have Asperger's as well as my husband, but he may just be OCD and ADD.

I would appreciate any help in understanding this behavior/disorder/disease better.

Welcome, first of all.
I would check out the General Autism Discussion section of this forum. If you want to find out for sure if you have ASD or Aspergers, I would schedule an appointment with a professional.
