Hey!

I just registered here because I am in the journey of autism (probably pdd-nos) with my 16 month old son. With the stories, questions and issues I'd like to try to find some answers here.
I am a 23 years young mother of him and his brother (twin), I also got diagnosed with Aspergers at my 17th. Living in Holland (explains my bad English sometimes;-) ) two dogs and the dad in home.
with not much knowledge here (Holland) about this early autism I hope i can find more here.
In our country mostly kids will get tested from about 3 to 4 years, so my/his ped kind of looked me strange when I said I thought it was already clear enough to see for me. 11th July someone from a early intervention program came to our house to have a check and make her conclusions in her words were brief said infantile autism. As in Holland they don't diagnose autism at this age. Something I also didn't want to because we cannot know what his development will bring.

Well this is kind of my introduction:)

My greetings!! Cuddle (i'd like to leave my real name for my own for now)

The important thing about early diagnosis is that there are more options for helping the child out. If parents can begin to learn about what life's like in there there's a greater chance of more normal socialisation as childhood progresses. That's what they say, anyway, and I've seen some young aspie adults who have vastly greater social presence than I ever managed in my undiagnosed childhood.

thanks for the warm welcome!!
I know, for me early intervention was and still is very important. Also because lots of people (docters in general) here still say it cannot be that clear in the age of my child. so they where wrong. Besides that. the younger the better for his future to help him. just likePeterd said. (doesn't mean late diagnoses ruins everything. Me for example  )
