Hello all,

Newbie here. I've came across this website a one or 2 times in the past but never stuck around. I think I need to stop kidding myself and accept that fact that I am different and need to accept myself. I was diagnosed about 18 months ago as PDD-NOS, my first and only test although I'm pretty sure I have Apergers (daughter was diagnosed in the past).

I have a lot of Asperger's traits but my diagnosis was a little difficult because of my hearing loss (I'm also hard of hearing) and given the fact that no one knows why I didn't talk until I was 3 years old nor why I didn't begin to put together sentences until a year later. I would love to be tested again by a psychologist that is well versed in deafness to get a more definitive answer. But I'm now a little older, in my mid-30's so not sure if it is worth it.

I'm not happy getting a diagnosis so late in life, but nothing I can do about it now but to embrace it and move on! So, I'm happy to be here and look forward to corresponding with you guys!

Oh- my scores from the Aspie Quiz:

Your Aspie score: 131 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 84 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

Hello and welcome to Wrong Planet, we hope you stick around. I was given the official label only months ago...and yes it's a good idea to embrace it...maybe things make more sense to you now. And please don't give up on looking for a specialist.
