Thanks for the welcomes, all.
Broad question. I guess my biggest 'academic' interest is human societies and the way they've developed over time, but I have tended to switch my focus between different branches of this subject (history, politics, sociology, etc.). My more casual interests are music (both playing and listening), film and TV, maps and geography, and writing.
Wow! I guess that writing a self description wasn't such a challenge after all.
