Hello everybody,
I am new here, and, as the title says, I'm French, so please forgive my mispellings when I do (but do not hesitate to correct me..love learning!...)
There are many years that I have been thinking of being an Aspie but for some (unknown) reason, I never dare to go for a diagnosis. It has been the same with the IQ thing, I felt like I was being obnoxious or whatever else by doing so (but I finally did it). Ok, now at 43, I think it is about time to take care of me rather than trying compulsively to be "normal". I finally got an appointment yesterday (yesterday!) and they said, with my answerings and my IQ test that it could be an Asperger syndrome indeed (but it might take a year to get to know). I don't see what else it could be anyway. So in the while... I'd rather speak with people, even through the Net and through the Ocean!
I lived for one year in London, then, also in the States and 6 months in Melbourne, Australia. In the USA, I stayed for 6 month in a row in New-York (my favourite city ever), also in Fort-Smith, Ar, in Olympia, Wa (in the Rugby House), in San Francisco... I really loved living in the US, meeting people so great, which is why I am here on this forum. I felt good also probably because feeling weird as a "stranger" felt normal (although I realized afterwards I was really depressed when being there) and today I am very grateful I had been there because of such uncomprehension between countries (whatever the countries are)
And speaking English is good for me!
Thanks for reading,
Good night or day,
And hope to talk to you soon!
Stephanie
