Greetings.

I was informed about this site, not but a day ago. I have ASD and I've felt alone in a sea of ignorance. No-one seems to fully understand what it means. I know no-one personally with any kind of Autism. I was told this is a good place to find just that. I find it hard to open up to people, even if i have known them for years. It's a odd feeling knowing that you are the same, yet different from those around you. Don't get me wrong, I love the way i am. Would not change it for the world. I just wish i knew more about Autism and how it effects me differently in comparison to how it effects someone else. It's a unique thing, this autism, Different to each person, just as our Finger prints are.

As i type this, I find myself getting more "comfy" with the way i feel mentally. All I've got to do now, is sort out my life. And make some Mates along the way.

I will keep my rant to a Minim for now.

Welcome. Is SA south australia or south africa? Or, perhaps, somewhere else entirely?

I've had the diagnosis for a few years now and I still don't have more than passing connection with anyone else who has one too. Perhaps that's all we can look forward to, but it doesn't seem good enough to me.

Are you registered with Autism SA? Not that there's much for anyone past childhood there, but it's a start.
