I've been posting a little here and there, so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Becky and I'm 31 and from Anchorage, Alaska. I was diagnosed when I was 16 with social anxiety disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, but it never really fit. I am hoping my current psychiatrist will be able to help me out. I also experience bipolar disorder and OCD. I actually posted here back in 2008 and I thought I might have Asperger's, but I don't really know for sure.
I work full time as a care coordinator for adults with disabilities (mental and physical). I got my bachelor's degree in 2003 for mass communication, journalism emphasis, psychology minor--I am very gifted in writing and editing and worked as a reporter for eight months, but it was stressful and I didn't enjoy writing for the newspaper. My boss was not very nice and I got belittled so much that I decided to go into another field.
It is possible I might not be an Aspie...I did score high on all those online tests, I just don't know if I did because of my social anxiety and loner personality...I guess I will find out soon enough.
