Hello, 
I was diagnosed autistic when I was 6. But my parents didn't want an autistic child.
So, it has been an interesting life. 
Back in 1969 I don't think they diagnosed people as Aspie. I might be... It doesn't really matter. I love who I am...
All through life, I have met Aspie type people here and there. - The world does not have enough people like us!
Learning about autistic/aspie characteristics is nice... : ) I was really believing I was a freak.. but that is what I have now learned as high functioning autism / aspergers .
All of a sudden, I feel free and don't want to continue the charade of being "normal". I just want to be me...
