Hello, I am a 34 year female. In addition to being an Aspie, I also have ADHD and Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I am an office manager for an investment bank and I don't think people like me because they spend a lot of time yelling at me for not doing what they tell me to. I do everything with military precision. That irritates them as well. I think my friends feel sorry for me. I think my partner is trying to fix me and in the meanwhile I spend my time obsessively tracking airplanes and have an in-depth knowledge of airplane engines. I really want to be an engineer.

Welcome to Wrong Planet!

I've noticed that many educational materials are now available online--you could get quite an engineering background just by studying courses on the web!

Turbo, I learned long ago that there are only two ways I can get along in the workplace: First, working alone and independently; second, being the boss. Nothing else works for me.

Awesome. Welcome to WP.

We can talk about F100-PW-229 from my beloved Viper. :)

Don't let anyone fix you. You aren't broken.

Thank you everybody, I am so glad I found this site. I made it through the day at work and nobody yelled at me. Mainly because I did not speak to anybody. I spent most of the day mounting computer screens so was left alone. That is what I told my partner too. I am not broken. And yes, there are fantastic online lectures through MIT and Harvard that I really like watching. @Dilbert - arn't they just fantastic ! I have been known to bolt out out of the office when the air force have their fighter jets coming over. I am a huge fan of the F 15 Strike Eagles. And I think it will be a natural progression to move on from Boeing and Airbus engins to fighter jets. For this reason - my all absorbing fasination with aircrafts I live right underneath the flight path and my idea of a great weekend is sitting there tracking them with the flight radar program. Last weekend we had a massive thunderstorm so they were all diverted.

Thank you everybody.

The New England air museum is run by volunteers, many of which worked for Pratt and Whitney, which means they are experts in airplane engines!

They restored the Excambian VS-44 huge flying boat--some of the volunteers helped to build it the first time around!

Plane spotter?!

If you ever find yourself in the PNW look for a white Cessna 172 with a yellow and dark blue stripe down the side. That's me. :)

Howdy, don't let anyone try and fix you, you aren't broken!

And planes are indeed cool, I almost geeked out when I got to see an SR71 Blackbird up close in New York.... Was awesome :D
