I often visit the forums on WrongPlanet, and it kept bugging me about registration. Now I'm registered so I might as well introduce myself.

I got diagnosed with ASD or Asperger's in the beginning of the summer. I was kind of forced to get a diagnosis, since my country has conscription (mandatory military service), and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle any kind of military service. Luckily I got my diagnosis, and I didn't have to serve in the military.

I have one very stereotypical Asperger's trait; I love math. I'm sadly not the brightest "mathgeek" in my class, but what i lack in intelligence, I make up for in dedication.

I suppose, I have mild Asperger's, since I function pretty well in a normal environment, my biggest problem is if my routine is broken, or if my environment changes altogether. I also often find social interactions slightly confusing, but who doesn't? ;)

By the way, there seems to be a spam bot sending PM's, on the forum. 8)

That's awful that your country has that! Why do they have that? Who do they make go into the army--everyone from everywhere except people with disabilities, or just people of a certain class/with certain jobs/certain sex/etc.?

I just reread my post, and realized that I might have made it seem worse than it is, mostly because I accidentally left out information. (I blame this on me being tired)

The military service is chosen through lottery, so not everyone has to go, but other than that, everyone can be chosen. Very few is chosen, because of all the volunteers who enlist.

The part I had a problem with is that before being chosen by lottery, I'd have to participate in a medical assessment, which would've taken place pretty far from where I live.

I live in Denmark, by the way.

Velkommen til WrongPlanet.

Jeg er også fra Danmark :) (København)

Regarding being a conscript they are about to abolish it, but will take some time, since it requires an amendment of the constitution, some say.

I served, (with BRS / DEMA) since I was not aware I may have be Aspie at the time. You didn't miss much. Sleeping in 10-man rooms requires heavy social skills. Gee's I am happy it is long over and done with. Anywho... Welcome, nice to see some fellow Danes around.
