I am new to this site and am a Granny to a beautiful 5 year old girl who is at this stage not been given a final diagnosis as she presents accross the whole spectrum, so for how we are dealing with what we know she has -ie Audio Processing Dysfunction and Sensory processing dysfunction. I have joined in the hope that reading all the different posts will give me a clearer idea of how to deal with her on a day to day basis without going  She is adorable and has us wrapped around her little finger- but it can get very frustrating trying to figure out what she is trying to tell us at times. Certain areas she has picked up what the correct response is to certain verbal situations but at times it can be very amusing when she "learns" a response to a situation which is not always appropriate. She is having speech therepy and we were lucky enough to get hier into a Pre Primary that goes the extra mile with children with "Issues" and she has had big improvements in all areas in a very short time. My biggets frustration is trying to get her to eat a healthy varied diet as she only willingly eats Wheatbix, yogurt, chicken (no colour on it) butternut, potatoe and squash, bacon, occasionaly a pork mini sausage or vienna, apples Pecan Nuts (she loves) raisons. Not a very good balance which is frustrating as I have to supplement her diet with tonics. Any way that all for now- I certainly have waffled away

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

Unfortunately, the way my parents got me to eat everything they served me is a little violent, so I'm not putting my suggestion out.

Anyways, I wish you luck. :salut:

hiya:) welcome to the club 8)
you would be wise to use a bit of both carrot and stick nutritionally for her. let her have her yummy foods only after she agrees to eat the nutritious foods. if you have an industrial food processor of vitamix you can sneak some veggies into her food in the sauce.

Hello, :) welcome to WP.

My mum didn't let me leave the table until I'd eaten all my veggies  Though, growing up eating healthy from the start, I didn't really mind eating them too much.
My parents also used to hide broccoli under the cheese in my pizza. xD
