need a heads up for clinical psychologist diagnosis.

hi guys

will be seeing a clinical psychologist this monday for the first meeting with ref to an aspergers diagnosis.
was just wondering what i might expect as im not comfortable going there without a clue as to what might happen.
im feeling very anxious and a little fearful. mostly im concerned that i wont be believed but also this could be lifechanging.
any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Your meeting will likely be pretty relaxed. It really depends on how the psychologist is going to test you. There's a diagnosis method called "ados" and it consists of the clinician simply talking to you and making note of any autistic traits you show.

Your first meeting as Alex said will probably be very simple and basic, a question and answer session. Mine was more like a monologue. Remember, regardless of the outcome you are there for you, so be honest and as open as possible.
