I'm new here...
I'm not an official aspie, but some of my behavior really makes me "know" I have it. Other times I doubt it. I'm professionally diagnosed with ADHD.
In the essence of time, I'll just break it down into a list.
Reasons I think I DO have it:
1) I like having a plan for the day, and get agitated/ very upset if it gets disturbed in any way. For instance: Coming home from school and asking my mother what we're doing today. Say it's a Friday. On Friday, Dad should be home and we most likely eat something from a restaurant or something fancy.
2) I've been called very organized. Every class has a folder and a notebook. The outside pocket of my backpack is for my calculator and pens, the middle is for soft books. In recent years, I've been able to calm down my reaction to this system being disrupted.
3) I get "sensory overload". If I've heard a lot of music that day, had a lot of conversation or the day was in any way taxing, it's a struggle to even sleep
4) speaking of sleep, I've always waked up early. If I wake up late, I wake up in the middle of the night and then go back to bed an hour or few later
5) In social situations, I'm what others call "awkward". I'm not exactly introverted. I'm extremely extroverted to a fault and people get offended by it. Like just starting a random conversation in the hallway with someone I've never met before. Why is this bad? It's just being social. Sometimes, too, it depends on how comfortable I am in my environment. If I know most of the people around me, I'll talk and talk.
6) Conversations with me tend to be one sided, especially when I've got an Idea or a thought
7) I have no idea- at all- if someone is my friend or my acquaintance
8 ) I'm not very good at reading the body language of a certain situation. Only after I've said something really dumb do I realize I've offended/ alienated everyone
9) People I talk to will tell jokes, and I'll go "OHHH" 10 seconds after everyone laughed, and then laugh.
10) I took the AQ test and got 38, aspie quiz and I got 146/200 AS, and 63/200 for NT
11) The more I think about it, the more I realize that I always have talked out of my "social limits", to teachers, popular kids that didn't want to talk to me but i didn't realize
12) I've always had a thing for maps- drawing maps of imaginary cities I make in my mind, looking at maps of foreign places, looking at maps of current places (this would be a special interest, I believe)
13) I've never had very good hygiene. I don't brush my teeth often, rarely use deodorant, and re-wear the same clothing for days
So I dunno. Tell me what you think...
EDIT: 14) I'm never able to tell if I'm being laughed at or with.
