I'm new here. I'm 30, female and from the state of GA. I think I might have Asperger's, even if only borderline, but it's the only thing that sort of makes sense considering my personality and difficulties. I'm going to read through forums and try to get educated before I ask really stupid questions. I'm hoping I find some answers here, even if they aren't the answers I want.

Welcome to Wrong Planet. :)

Okay, before you dive into the sea that is known as the autism spectrum, there are two things you must know:

1. It is rare when someone is text-book autistic, and most of us don't show all of the symptoms that are listed.
2. If you are certain you have Aspergers or another autism spectrum disorder, go for a professional diagnosis just to be completely sure.

That is all.

Thanks, I'm planning on making an appointment to get on the road towards a diagnosis in the next month. Not really thrilled about that.

I'm not "textbook" so I may not have Aspergers. Completely realize that. Right now, it just seems to be the possibility that makes the most sense.

Me too - I know how you feel. Never knew much about AS until recently, saw a description and it could have been me as a child. Getting assessed in the next few weeks, as soon as the appointment comes through.

I'm quite worried about the whole process too, but it's a necessary.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome to Wrong Planet!
Love the Jem and the Holograms pic :) I had the paper dolls when I was little!

Jenga - Thanks. I'm not comfortable with doctors but I'm hoping this will be helpful.

Glasstoria - I watched the show when i was a kid. I think I had a Jem doll when I was small.

Did you happen to save it? Can you tell how you wrote your blog entry?

Wait, where was I? Oh, right.

No, I should have. I've learned from WP not to ever trust a publish button.

Thanks! I'm learning a lot here.
