Hello, folks.

I've been lurking around the site for a few months now, and I felt that I might as well introduce myself. I'm 26-year-old paramedic living in the Southern US. I've suspected that I have Aperger's for about a year now, but I haven't yet sought diagnosis or treatment. After reading many of the posts here, my backstory seem pretty formulaic:
[smart kid -> picked on in school -> felt "different" -> heard about Asperger's -> felt better -> posting on WP].
(If you desire further detailing, feel free to copy and paste from any other similar post. Otherwise, I won't waste your time with it.)

I am currently busy loving my marvelous girlfriend, working on a quite-a-bit-less-than-marvelous offshore oil platform, and pursuing my many transient interests. I think this community is a great concept, and I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to participate in something like this.

In sum, hi.

Thanks for introducing yourself to WP!

I surmise you must be used to the humid subtropical climate in your location.

I wouldn't say I'm used to it. Inured may be a better word. There are about four days a year when I enjoy being outside. Two in the spring and two in the fall. It's starting to cool off a little bit (read: "temperature < 90), and I couldn't be more pleased. It's nice to see that someone feels our plight, though.

BTW, anyone know how to enable html in here?

Hello marbledog

Yup, that story sounds very familiar. If you've been lurking, you've got a good idea what you're getting in to. I hope we'll be hearing more from you.

Did you say that wasn't proper? Did you march out on the track?
You were quiet, just like mice. And now you say that we're not nice.
Well thank you buddy for your advice...
