Hi all!
I saw this forum for newbies and thought I'd say, this is a great website... so nice to hear from others whose life experience mirrors my own... Seems that's pretty hard to find!

I've never been diagnosed with Asperger's, but the moment I read about it (God I love Wikipedia...) I said, "OMG! There's a scientific /medical term that describes... ME!! !" so here I am.

Also, here's a funny little story I can share for your amusement (as an example of my naiveté?):

Here in NB, many of us are bilingual. My mother spoke French to me as a child, and one of the sayings that are common around here goes: "Tiens tes culottes" (pronounced, "Tchan tay tchulotte") - it means (litterally), "Hold your pants up". The "real" meaning is "Be patient".

Once, when I was young, just starting school, my mother said this to me when we were in the mall parking lot, as I was being impatient for something or other. She imagined I would have understood what she meant. However, when she turned around to look at me a few minutes later, she noticed that I was lagging behind. The reason? I was trying to walk with her while keeping a firm grip on my pants, frantically pulling them up. I thought this would actually get me what I wanted faster.

Needless to say, she got a good laugh. I failed to see the humor until she explained what the saying actually MEANT.

Bazza just got interested because you live in Drunkton. He's at travelocity right now buying a ticket to go look for a house, but none of the airlines will let him take his kangaroo.

By the way, welcome.

Did you say that wasn't proper? Did you march out on the track?
You were quiet, just like mice. And now you say that we're not nice.
Well thank you buddy for your advice...

Anyone who can write English is automatically assumed to be American. You can't tell by the grammar and spelling these days--it's all poor, no matter where you are.

So...welcome to WP and enjoy yourself!
