From a doctor. Yeah.

Well, that would explain a lot. I've never been that big in the friend department, and have always been a bit of a nerd. I do have odd obsessions, like I am totally obsessed about Russia  I even took a college course for it when I was 14. Even though my IQ is 138, I seriously struggle in school. I have ADD/ADHD, very hard to pay attention. I used to take rittalin, which helped, but I went borderline bulimic (one of the side effects of rittalin) and looked like a skeleton.

I also love COMPUTERS. I've assembled many myself. I also enjoy gaming, photoshop, adobe Illustrator, video editing, and Maya 3D animation.

I'm what you would call "different" among my peers :?... Hence the constant bullying in my life.

Anyway, I'd like to get to know you guys. Can you please tell me about yourselves? Thank you.

Thats good to know, welcome to wp.

Heres some stuff about myself. I was diagnosed with aspergers at 18 after I had selective mutism for almost 10 years. When I was a kid, I slipped though the cracks with everyone just mistakening it for shyness. My social skills were never really good. Heres where the shyness and aspergers came together. I never really understood spontaneous interactions. I felt at 18, that I needed to make sure a social interaction was OK. I was very stiff, to myself, on the side. I did not have that natural flowing NT socializing. With everyone telling me it was shyness it was very confusing. But since then I've improved a lot. I didn't have friends till I was 18. My obsessions have been about people which is kinda creepy. I dont think my obsessions are weird, there just creepy. I have ocd like symptoms what my old doc used to call "ruminations". It doesn't qualify as ocd cause theres some actual rationality behind having them, aka being aspie and having bad social skills. Lets see, Im your stereotypical math/science nerd aspie. Thats were my skills are. Realizing theres been a million posts on here of aspies complaining about the math stereotype.

Well anyways thats all I can think of for now.....

hullo. welcome to the pack(if you can call a bunch of auties a pack). i was dx'd at 13 & 7mths. i dont understaand your obsession with computers because they practically explode when i touch them and we don't get along but russia is something worthy of obsession. especially around the revolution. i used to think modern history was dead boring but my comrades have inspired a fascination with it based around the revolution. my own special interests over the years have been predominantly neopaganism, herbs and AS/ kanners. my fondness for researching/reading in the library during lunch along with my bad social/communication skills set me apart from the other kids. i was good in school but i mostly suck at uni- inappropriate field of study. other than that i like animals and politics, needle work, reading and gardening.

If AP classes count as colledge classes then I have been taking them since I was 14, as I took AP Calculus in the 9th grade, though I'm not just good at math, I'm at about 99th percentile in everything I've been tested on. I'm not sure what my IQ is, I got 142 on some online one I took at 4am while highly sleep deprived a few days ago, but if I remember correctly the results I got from one a LONG time ago was somewhere between 120 and 140. I love computers too. I've a significant obsession with games and have designed several and made a few by myself in Flash. I was diagnoses with AS at 8, but I think I might also have ADD or ADHD.

I still take Ritalin... and Adderall. Yeah, purging your food is not a good thing.

I'm an aspie who is very interested in books and what they have to say. My particular interests include philosophy, political theory, history, sociology, and psychology. It is aspies like me who make math and computer whizz aspies into a stereotype rather than a hard, fast rule. My profession is librarian, and since I prefer solitude, I have some land out in the middle of nowhere and run a few head of cattle.
