I am not King of Funny Faces because my face is funnier than anybody else. I am the King of Funny Faces because I inherited the title from my father, who died in 2003.

I just found out this year that I have Asperger's. My doctor wrote it down in 2008, when I was 33, but he didn't tell me about it until I got a copy of his notes in May 2010. I have experienced so much tragedy over he years. It would have been nice to know that these meltdowns are caused by something that was actually true. I have been diagnosed with Schizo-Affective and BiPolar. I am in the process of getting a formal evaluation right now.

I'm looking forward to meeting Apies online and in New Jersey. We are just getting a new support group in Morris County now. Our first meeting of "Aspen Adult Issues" was last month. for now, it meets at the Morris County Library in Whippany (a short cab ride from Morristown Station) on the Second Tuesday of the month. I too have recently discovered that I am ASD.
Nobody seemed to notice before... they all thought I was just weird and dysfunctional!

Finding out about High Functioning Autism/ASD has been a totally liberating experience and has enabled me to completely review my past; understanding how and why things happened.

Now entering the reconstruction phase!

Ok, so for the record, I just found out that I "no longer carry" the schizo-affective and bipolar disorder diagnoses. As of 3/25/2011, my Axis I diagnoses were only Asperger's Disorder and PTSD. Honestly, that's good news to me.
