Hi all. I watched an episode of South Park one day and became interested in the term "assburgers" thinking its a made up diesease - Turns out there's an actual disease/syndrome but just spelt asperger's syndrome. Upon reading about this "disease" I found a lot of similarities within my own life. But I didn't really investigate more closely til recently. I started seeing myself - like I was reading a book/article about myself. But I only ended with more questions than answers. I believe myself to have Asperger's Syndrome, but have not gone for any tests. Hopefully I can find a way to better myself without "losing" myself. Sorry if this seems like a crappy post I'm doing it from my phone. Anyway Hi everybody.

Hi, and welcome! I'm sure there are lots of us here who stumble across Asperger's as a condition and realise that the description fits them and answers a lot of their questions. There is no need to 'lose yourself' through finding you have/might have AS, although the diagnosis can be unsettling until you get used to it.

Yes. It was most unsettling at first because I was going through some positive change with social situations but for some reason I just couldn't penetrate through to the normal world. It's like I'm "one of them", but not really. There was still this barrier seperating me from the "nuerotypical" world. When I read about AS my whole world litterally fell from under me. I went through my entire memory banks to see if whether all the positive interactions in my life were false. Because I was now seeing through different lense. Suffice it to say a lot of tears were shed.
