David Flare
My name is David. But my last name isn't flare. I'm a freshmen in college who had a difficult highschool life. I was diagnosed with Aspergers at age 15 and since then walked a dark path that leads to light. All the bullying I've recieved has taught me alot about the world, society, and the human race I doubt most people with out Aspergers at my age then or now would find out for afew more years. Sure I developed a darker outlook, but you need to walk in darkness before you see the light.
I'm a writer, and I like to think I'm a young philosopher. I spend alot of time thinking, reflecting, and questioning. I don't do politics, enviroment, or science. I prefer socialogy, religion, and ethics. I am writing a book on Aspergers, a book on religious tolerance, and several novels. One ofwhich is my life's work, a fantasy based universe called Dark Magi. I even plan on turning it into a game. There are several ideas posted on my deviant art page, storming-darkness, which is linked to my page here. Ide love for people to read them. There's even a teaser.
If you haven't noticed, I'm really a fan of fantasy and mythology. Mythology is always harbering some valuable life lesson, ideal, or philosophy. The concept of myth and magic to me is extrordinary. Magic in it's core is based on ideals such as knowledge, philosophy, imagination, and will power. Myths tell us something that the modern world, anything can happen and anyone, no matter how weak, disadvantaged, or otherwise can one day triumph. It also tells us how good triumphs over evil and intellect triumphs strength.
I like to use the image of the mage to represent myself. Why not? Mages are smart, clever, insightful, and fair natured. To me those aspects are basically what a person with aspergers is like. I also the image of the demon to represent aspects of passion, ambition, and personal suffering, and the angel to represent strength, kindness, and pure intentions. I have learned to prefer the body build of what I call an ideal mage.
Short
Not very muscular because magic does not revolve around physical strength
Innocent and wise looking
Dressed in clothes that seem to portray some mysticism, basic fantasy, goth, nerdiness, or just plain black or purple
In ways of personal interests, I enjoy the game Magic the gathering, but due to Yugioh's popularity in my school, I might pick that up. I love anime, but because of some bad dealings with a certian club, I ironically dont really enjoy anime fans. I mostly prefer fantasy based anime. I like super heros but not asmuch but not a fan of Thor. I prefer Loki, but based on the mythology, not the comic. I really don't like Holliwood. It just puts sex appeal and glamor into everything, f*****g up whatever it touches. I'm like to watch stuff like cartoon network and nick, mainly because their's not much out there I think I'de call entertainment, or wholesome. I have a habbit of critisizing what I call the mainstream. I love to watch shows that make fun of others like Family guy. Speaking of satire, I love this heavy metal band called Gwar. Honestly, I think that if you're not a fan, you should still respect them. Because what they do, they shall a strong creativity to make it and must have alot of guts to put it out there. They're raunchy, atrocious, chaotic, crazy, but insightful, truthful, intelligent, and clearly knows whats going on with the world. The only thing I can compare them to is a pile of rotting, stinking garbage making fun of publically the race that created it. I'm a fan of metal, especially power metal, death metal, and shock metal. I use to be into rap music until highschool. I'm out for cultural exploration and societal learning.
I guess that's it.
