I'm not new here - but I've not been here for a good few months so felt the need to re-introduce myself.

Having had my self diagnosis of Asperger's trashed by doctors and councellors again - I decided to stay away and live in the 'real world' like the supposed normal human that I am.

Now I am back - battered, shattered and all burned out ......
Needing to be in contact with those that 'get this'! :wall:

That's got to be frustrating. I'm in the process of being officially diagnosed, but if they end up telling me I'm NT, I will be very baffled, and frustrated - because it won't change the fact that I have all the symptoms of Aspergers, and have never been able to function like an NT, in my entire life.

I'm sorry that's what happened to you... I have special sympathy for people who are right on the border between NT and Aspie, because they have serious issues, yet don't really fit in anywhere, which totally sucks :(

Anyway, welcome back! :)

They're changing the DSM (diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders) soonish. It means that getting diagnosed as a apsie is getting more difficult, by this rate those with aspie like traits will be diagnosed as having a 'social disorder' not aspergers:

I'm officially diagnosed but get treated like a NT because I can hide my aspergers well enough. Its like I'm in purgatory ah!

No - it's from The Flintstones I think.
