Hi there everybody

My partner and I live in a very rural area. We've been together nearly 10 years and 2 years ago he was diagnosed with Aspergers. he also has severe social anxiety. We love each other and enjoy spending time together but living together under the same roof is proving a strain to both of us. We are just too different.

So I'm quite new to AS and completely new to this kind of site so bear with me please.

Welcome to WP! I hope you find some answers here that will enable the two of you to find some common ground.

Thank you Aharon

We have lots of common ground; walking on the beach, watching a who dunnit, cosying in front of the fire, animal welfare etc etc

We have no common ground about the everyday domestic things sadly and the hurly burly of a family life (2 of us plus several dogs) is too busy for him. I am sure that we can develop better understanding of each other and then decide what is best for both of us.

You two are like my wife and I. She's NT and I'm the aspie. Is your husband interested in making efforts to improve your relationship? I'm curious why you're posting and he is isn't also.
