My name is Fran, I'm 22... well, I'm not sure what else to say. I'm not diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome per se, but I've always displayed all the common traits, behavior and "symptoms" of the "typical Aspie". When I was about 5-6 years old, my aunt who is a psychologist "unofficially" diagnosed me as being somewhere on the Autistic spectrum; and shortly after, one of my school teachers kept saying to my parents that I needed to see a specialist or someone like that because I was "different" than the other kids, therefore I should learn and go to school "differently". For some reason my mom never wanted me to be "diagnosed" because she thought that I should grow up "as myself" with other kids without worrying about stuff like that. Of course I always had social problems while growing up and it was hard for me to make friends. Anyways, I've almost outgrown most of these social and cognitive traits and problems but I still have my special interests, my obsessiveness and compulsory behavior, etc.
But yeah, seems really nice to be able to talk about it here.
Btw, sorry for the long post!
