Hi, I'm new to the forum, and will warn in advance that sometimes life takes over and I simply forget that I'm signed onto a site, so if I disappear for a few months at a time, know that that's normal for me.
A little about me, my life has been fairly hectic all the way through my teens and so far in adulthood, and just last winter I was, after a breakdown, referred to a specialist (not a diagnostician) who confirmed that I have Aspergers syndrome.
Did anyone notice that Aspergers isn't accepted by the spellchecker? Or am I spelling it wrong?

I remember signs of it being noticed at a much younger age, but being dismissed, and going unnoticed throughout most of my life, with me just being known as eccentric and odd.
It's such a relief to finally have a name to put to my peculiarity, and to know that I am not alone!
It's also odd to have the realisation that most other people don't struggle with the same things that I do, although it goes to explain a lot.

I look forward to being part of this community.

Hello everyone! Thanks for the replies. The goggles are a pair of standard metal safety goggles that I modded for Steampunk, without the lenses. I made an adjustable strap out of ribbon that ties at the side. It was a project I set myself up last winter when tensions were very stretched in the house and I needed an escape. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work as a distraction, as I had the breakdown that led to my being referred to the specialist. Things unfortunately remained uneasy in the house until I moved in with my Fiancee this year, and I've been doing research on Asperger's and starting to better understand my own needs and come to terms with things
All is looking like it will improve, I've been stuck in a rut for so long
