Hi, just found this site today and decided to register. I`m 32, male and live in the UK but travel back and fourth to the states. I was sort of officially diagnose with Aspergers 5 years ago but most of my medical records have been lost in the NHS system which now leaves me with no diagnosise as have tried to speak with my doctor and was told after being referred to a shrink who basically told me there was nothing they could do, was to stop being obsessive stupid and to forget about it. I`m now supposelly to have mild learning difficulties, various panic and sequencing disorders, possible OCD, depression and as the shrink put it "just wierd". Now I`m left wondering did the person I saw 5 years ago make a mistake or was he right. I have looked into this for the past 2 years and have read various different sites and have been told to talk to others with Aspergers to get their views on it. I can give more details if necassary i.e. why I was sent in the first place for a diagnosis. I`ll try and keep this short as being my first post and please excuse any spelling mistakes.

Welcome.

I have OCD and Asperger's. Maybe you have multiple conditions.

Welcome to the forum! Yes its common to have co-morbid conditions with AS. I think it was quite unprofessional for a psychiatrist to call you "just weird". I hope you find the forum informative and helpful.

Well a big thank you to you all for the warm welcome. I have read on another site about self diagnosis and I posted my background there to see what they thought and no one replied. Does this forum have a section like that? If so then I would my background there to see what you guys thought of it all.

Well thank you all for the warm welcome. The OCD does come out alot in me in more ways than one. Also I`m borderline tourrretts aswell apparently which explains why I tend to offend people without realizing but hey...... if this is a haven does anyone mind if I quickly grab my computer and a sleeping bag?
