Posting on a discussion board is new to me so I am feeling a bit apprehensive. I recently discovered I have Aspeger's. It took 18 years to find an explanation for my 'challenges', depression and anxiety. When I found this out my entire life instantly made sense. The relief has been enormous. Now, I know the origins of my eccentricities, behaviours, and sensitivities.

Wrong Planet has really helped me process this all. Thank you.

It has been very comforting to find other women who went through what I did to discover this. I was diagnosed with a myriad of disorders. Nothing fit nor did any of the treatments/therapy work. All the signs of an ASD were present when I was a very young child and persisted throughout my 34 years of life but no shrink bothered to inquire, despite suspecting that I had such a 'cognitive style'.

Welcome! And don't worry; there's no need to be apprehensive. People here are very welcoming and understanding, and of course, you're among like minds.

Congratulations on your diagnosis! My dad went through similar at the age of 42 and it has been incredibly positive.
