51 yo male here. I was diagnosed approximately 5 years ago as having Asperger's Syndrome. I have not been active in the ASD community before, but think it is time to start. I am hoping that chatting with folks that have the same issues that I do will help me feel better. I've been having issues with anxiety lately.

I live alone with my 4 dogs in an old farmhouse in the country. I live a short drive from Birmingham, Alabama and work there as a programmer. So I have the best of both the rural and urban worlds. There is not an active community for adult Aspies here. Everything is geared toward support of parents with kids that are on the spectrum. I'm looking forward to finding fellow adults on the spectrum to talk to.

It's not so bad here in Alabama. We just have a bad reputation because the toothless mouth-breathers get all the publicity :)
