Hi my name is Gian, I was diagnosed with mild AS when I was just 15 yo and my life since then has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, Im currently 27 and I just migrated here in the US with my mom who has been a tower of support for me all these years, my problems didnt really manifest until i was in highschool, elementary was ok with me, but it was in highschool that i experienced bullying from my classmates due to my general lack of social skills which they thought was rooted on bad behavior which isnt, i have been called names and such but fortunately a few people were kind to me and understood me and five or six of them became friends of mine in highschool, college was equally the same, i experienced bullying because of my social isolation but i did have a few friends of about six or eight people in college, theyre limited i know but they were good people and these college friends of mine became very close to me and I miss them back in the Philippines but I still talk to them on a regular basis, I was fortunate that despite my oddities they were able to accept me for who i am and for that i will always be greatful, after graduation I worked in a computer shop that my mom's friend owns and I was happy because I found a job that put my computer skills to good use and I enjoy doing things for my customers because I felt useful and needed, then I migrated here in the United States and I currently work as a caregiver in a care home facility taking care of old people assisting them in their activities of daily living, part time I do telemarketing on the internet to earn extra income and Im saving money to buy tech upgrades for my computer, but im also seeking job opportunities somewhere else in Sacramento though Im anxious working with others I hope I can overcome my fears and lead a healthy productive life here in the United States, and I really hope to meet many friends here on the forums.
